Fitting Guide

The HARTMANN Direct fitting guide contains all the information you need to know to ensure you choose the right sized products. We have also provided information on the application of the products and how to change them correctly.

Click the following links to jump to the right section.

This guide is about fitting our incontinence products. You can find more information on choosing the right product for your needs by reading our Buyer’s Guide here.

Take your measurements

Taking the correct measurements will make sure you select the right sized slip, pull up pants and fixation pants. Having correctly fitting continence products will reduce the risk of leakages and discomfort.

If possible, have someone else take your measurements for you. If you must do this yourself, stand in front of a full-length mirror so that you are able to see where to measure. All you will need is a measuring tape, a pen and paper to note your measurements down.

Measuring your waist

  • Stand up straight with your feet together. Locate the space between the top of your hips and the bottom of your ribs.
  • Take your measuring tape and place it at a midway point, or the smallest part of your waist (just above the bellybutton). Wrap the tape around your waist, making sure to keep it flat.
  • Make sure the measuring tape is flush against the skin for an accurate measurement.
  • Breathe out and take the measurement in centimetres and inches.

Measuring your hips

  • Stand up straight with your feet together. Locate the fullest part of your hips and buttocks – generally, this is around 8 inches below the waist.
  • Place the end of the measuring tape on one hip and wrap it round the circumference of the hips until you meet the starting point (keeping the tape flat).
  • Check the tape is level in the mirror and take your measurement in centimetres and inches.

How to fit fixation pants

The MoliCare range of fixation pants come in the following sizes.

Size

Waist/Hip Measurement (Inches/CM)

MoliCare pads do not come in different sizes like our range of pants and slips do. Instead, we manufacture pads which meet different needs and come in different levels of absorbency. You can find out more about our pads by reading our Buyer’s Guide.
